Italie!!

So I made it there and most importantly back!!

It didn't start too well fell over the first run and my ski came off and the binding had moved... however a very helpful man came to my rescue and fixed that for me.
Beautiful scenery tho and a mission to Italy for Bombadino's - literally rocket fuel of a drink much like egg nog. Then news that made me get a little shiver. Yea the next bit is two reds and a black.....WHAT!

But with a drink in me I just gritted my teeth and kept going. The ride back was long and flat, which called for bombing down the steep bits to keep enough speed...terrifying

The whole group were lovely and supported me the whole way round, then we went to val di'sere and stayed the night at the other chalet my boss owns as it was empty. Partied hard in the town an drank many gin and tonics, and eventually crashed out at 2am It was a long day but it was worth it.

The Marquis

I think today I can finally call myself a skier. I was taken up to the Marquis, third lift over the side of Saint Foy, to master red runs...eeeek

I actually didn't do as well as I wanted but everyone seemed impressed, what's this like me 8th time skiing. I have learnt many things today;
1) I don't like the edge and will avoid at all costs, even me ski's!!
2) Overtaking panics me and
3) Big arms and lean forward and squash the berries in your boots

Its so scary that actually leaning forward down the mountain gives you more control

Now my epic fall and slide down the steepest red run, was pretty epic, leaned back lifted a ski forgot how to turn and suddenly flying down the piste was a little green welsh ball of girl!! lost a ski and end up backwards, why thank you *takes bow*

Now all I have to do is get a night out and meet some sexy ski/snowboarders!!!

Oh yea and I'm skiing to Italy tomorrow....hopefully will take pictures tomorrow, too much else to concentrate on today!!!

On the Slopes

So last time I skied I literally had a child-sized strop on the mountain, because I couldn't do it. So tables turned I find myself on the mountain with children, throwing chidren sized strops!!

So several games of tag and buzzy bees later, they go off for their lesson and us mere beginners for ours.

This time feeling much more secure in stopping and in control of my ski's. Having finally convinced myself that I am not going to go flying off the mountain, I think I am actually getting this.My snowploughs finally morphed into beautiful parallel carvings down the mountain and barely any falls.

Now I find myself cosying up with little ones, all pleased with our amazing days of hard work in the snow, in front of the log fire, watching ratatouille.

It's a hard life ( we wont mention the b-e-d-t-i-m-e word just yet!)

I made it

Oh my god I am so relieved, literally everything that could have gone wrong did!

Too much stuff, so I wore most of it on plane, and had to give up my newly purchased shampoo to the check in girl. They wanted to charge me 10 pounds for every Kilo. However we managed to away with 5kilo extra and no charge...

Then my lovely travel partener, my employers mother took aaaaaages shopping when we were already late.

Then me in my tired, hungover and stressed state lead us the wrong gate, seriously!!!

We eventually were those people you hear being annouced over the tannoy, the last two to load onto the bus to the plane.

Anyway I made it, it's goreous, my mission is to make the small child not hate me now
